Our Twins at 12 Weeks

The twins are going to be 12 weeks old this upcoming friday! So if you wonder where have I been, well, I have been playing full time mommy to these cuties.

Amber Fox Photographer's Twin Boys

Zachary on the left, or we like to call him Zach is our feisty son. He was a little gymnast in the womb and his personality totally matches it. He is strong willed like his daddy and is always smiling like his momma. On the right is our darling Luke. Luke is much quieter and seems a bit more sensitive. He loves to look at John’s books and seems super fascinated by anything black and white. I think he is going to be an artist like his momma. Both boys are doing fabulously well, with cooing, lots of smiles and positive signs that they are growing into healthy young men.

How am I, you ask? Well, I am surviving. We are just getting over the craziest two weeks. Both our boys suffer from reflux, which apparently is pretty common with twins. Reflux translates to lots of spit up (extra loads of laundry), crying (oh my goodness, when is it going to stop) and little sleep for everyone (especially momma). We have tried a host of medicines and finally I think we may have found a cocktail that seems to be helping the boys. Just today, the boys have had two successful two hour long naps…this is HUGE!!! Hence, why I have a spare second to post a little hello on the blog.

But some of the little things I love about motherhood are….

  • Snuggling with my boys.
  • When they smile at me.
  • Watching them grow and knowing it’s my milk that is contributing to that.
  • Sharing this experience with John. I seriously have the BEST husband in the world. We are SO doing this together.
  • Dressing them in coordinated or matching outfits. Ok, I didn’t think I would be that mom, but I so am. It’s so cute when they are dressed alike.
  • Watching them stretch after they wake up.
  • The quiet moments in the morning, when it’s just us in bed. I don’t co-sleep with them, but sometimes I like to snuggle with them after the 4 am feed.
  • Cleaning out the lint between their fingers and toes. How does that much lint collect in there?!
  • Folding their little socks…they are so small.
  • Carrying them at the same time. I feel like super mom.
  • oh there is sooooooo much more…….
I will leave you with our boys Halloween costume. If we are friends on Facebook, you saw this already, but it’s so cute, I have to share it twice. Our boys dressed up as the election. Ha!
Amber Fox Photographer dressed up her twin boys as the Election for the 2012 election year.

Well, I hear a baby crying. Got to go be a momma.
