The Twins Turn One

In the Fox household we have a favorite saying…the days are long and the years are short. Can I get an Amen? It is so true. Sometimes I can say to myself that this year has flown by and I can’t believe that my boys are already a year old, but I can remember back to those bleary eyed days where I was barely surviving off the three hours of sleep I was getting everyday.

A special award should be given to all the parents of multiples when their little ones reach the age of one. It means that we SURVIVED! And it means that for a lot of those days, we counted our blessing every single day, because we are SO THANKFUL to have twins. John and I feel so blessed that God thought we could handle the craziness, because the first year was SO MUCH FUN! And there is so much ahead to look forward to. Amber Fox Photographer I Twin First BirthdayWith that, here are some pictures from their first birthday party and their fun cake smash. Oh how I love my boys…all of them. In these following shots, you can really see what a great dad John is. Both John and I feel so loved and taken care of by so many great people in our life. We couldn’t have survived this first year if it wasn’t for our amazing families, kind neighbors, and generous friends. It really does take a village to raise a child, so I guess it takes a city to raise twins! Ha! Amber Fox Photographer I Twin Birthday Party I Cake Smash

Ohhhhhh Amber! This post seriously made me tear up! I just get a little emotional because a) we’ve been on this first year ride together b) I am SO proud of and happy for you and John and all you’ve been through to get to this point together as a family and c) because I MISS YOU and seeing that shot of your back patio reminds me of what a wonderful hostess you are and the fun I had visiting you and GAHHHH WHY DO 3,000 MILES HAVE TO KEEP US APART?!!!

    Love you girl!

Thanks so much for sharing. Your post brought me me to tears. I gave birth to twins on August 1st. They both spent time in the NICU. One came home this week and I am having those 3-hr nights of sleep already. On top of pumping only (haven’t gotten the hang of BF’ing yet), I get so anxious for when my other one comes home. My husband is amazing: he keeps me positive and sane. So why do I still feel so nervous to juggle two? I worry about the moments I’m alone with them. I cant wait for my other one to come home, but i am truly scared!

So thank u for ur post. The days feel so long, but i want to look past the sleepless nights, cries, and every other hardship bc I know one day I’ll be celebrating their 1st bday, looking back just like yourself!
