Emily Hauke was a true joy to photograph. She is a joy to be around, is super beautiful and has a contagious personality. We did her urban inspired senior portrait session all over the streets of Downtown Fullerton and one of my favorite nature spots in Orange County. Emily is a Senior at Sonora High School, Class of 2016 and I have had the honor of photographing her through out the year, since she is one of my Foxy Models. You can see her other shoots here, here and here.
Emily really wanted to do an urban session, filled with lots of edginess and grafitti. In Orange County, that is actually kind of hard to find. Ha! But we headed over to one of my favorite alley ways in Fullerton and got some great shots! Paired with her favorite Converse, Emily’s outfit was perfefct for an urban backdrop.
A few years back, I photographed Emily’s sister, Sarah. Her sisters session was filled with everything girly and lots of flowers. Emily wanted to have her senior portrait session to be very different and all her own. I just love that!
After Emily’s first outfit, it was time to switch it up and get dressy! I absolutely love this adorable ensemble. And it really shows a different side of personality.
One of the things that I love about working with my Foxy Models, is that they really learn how to feel comfortable in front of the camera. They learn how to move their body and pose. My Foxy Models learn that they are beautiful! And they know that I love when my girls smile…and Emily has a gorgeous smile!
This shot has to be my all time favorite photo from the shoot! And her favorite as well. I totally did a happy dance when we found a trailor covered in fabulous graffiti.
We then headed to one of my favorite spots in Orange County to do some hip nature shots. Growing up I was always obsessed with cactus, and my love for these cool plants live on. So I was super excited when Emily chose this location for her nature section. So cool!
When I was at my Conference 12 Workshop I got a bunch of beautiful Mexican textiles and costume pieces for a styled shoot, so I really excited to use some of my fun new photo props, like this beautiful blanket.
For the past year I have been dabbling in off-camera lighting and learning how to master it. It’s a challenge for sure, but when I nail it and create the vision I have in my head, it is so freaking exciting and creatively satisfying. Seriously, people, doesn’t Emily look amazing!?
Emily it has been a true honor and joy to photograph you this year. I have really loved working with you and your entire family for that matter.
