Ask most photographers, and they will tell you that its a dream to photograph a dancer. When I found out that Sara has done ballet most of her life, I just knew we had to incorporate dance into her senior portraits. Sara is one of my Foxy Models, and she is just a splendid human being. Gorgeous, kind, smart and so well rounded. She swims, plays water polo and has danced most of her life. She’s super smart, is a hard worker and volunteers all over the place with her mom as a part of National Charity League. Sara is awesome!

After we did Sara’s family portrait session, she got changed into some dance gear. It was so fun to see her get into some poses while the sun set behind her. And then we transitioned into some amazing trash the dress photos in the ocean water.

The beach was swarmed with photographers doing family portrait session, and we were able to score some awesome rocks to pose on. Woo hoo! I busted out my off camera flash equipment and we had a blast getting some killer senior portraits. At one point, a wave took us all down, and all of my equipment. Praise Jesus, it wasn’t damaged or get too wet. Good times!

Enjoy these epic senior pictures of a dancer, as they are some of my favorites. I have worked hard to understand how to use off camera lighting. For those who are curious, I am using a Cheetah Light 360X and an Icelight2. I love both of these lighting tools, and they will totally bring your portraiture to a new level.
