At this point in the year, my seniors are totally suffering from Senioritis, and I knew they needed the shot in the arm of my biggest photo inspiration, Chris Becker.  So today he swung into my classroom wearing a “I Facebooked Your Mom” T-shirt and cracked everyone up with his hilarious and entertaining stories as a rock star photographer.

Becker is one of the most inspirational photographers in the world. From shooting hundreds of weddings over the past 10 years, to teaching photogs like myself and starting the photo community [B] School, he is all over the photo map. Last year, I had the honor of shooting with him at a wedding down in Laguna and got to see a master in action.

When he came into our dark room, he took a big whiff and said the photo chemicals brought him all the way back to high school. (Don’t worry, we do digital photography too). But he won the kids over with his slide show of zany and gorgeous photos from all over the world and his constant jokes. The kids laughed, eyes glowed with amazement, and were in total awe of this photo genious who stood before them.
