The Muckenthaler is the cultural epicenter of Fullerton — concerts, crafts, seminars, everything you could ask for (and a great website URL — www.themuck.com). So once a month the Leisure League, which is pretty much the most explanatory name ever, meets up to play some games. This month it was a bocce ball tournie.
If you’re not familiar with bocce ball, you should be. No, seriously. It’s that game that old men play on clay while dressed up in white duds. The rules are simple: throw a white ball and then throw the colored balls and try to land close to it. So all of us did our best to act old and to throw underhanded with backspin and wear 1920’s get-ups that were mostly white. What fun! And I got to photograph the games (there was also croquet, just for kicks and giggles).
My hubby came in third in the tournament, butI came out with some 1st class pictures. Hope you enjoy!
I love the photo of John’s croquet mallet and OH MY GOSH the one of Emerson is so darling!
