Doing a Beloved Session with this couple was a joy and I truly was able to see their Sweet Love for each other. Beloved photography, as it’s most commonly called, is not your typical photo shoot. Rather it’s a time to celebrate the love between a couple and in some cases, even rediscover the love that is often hard for some to communicate to their spouse. It’s about creating a space for a couple to really connect. I don’t tell my couple how to pose or where to put their arms and such, but rather bring them to a place that is special to them and lead them thru a series of games and fun exercises that allow for them to flirt and go emotionally deep. No more fake smiles with this sort of session, but rather lots of kissing and even tears of joy.
Last week, I had the utmost privilege of photographing the most wonderful couple, Jan and Don. Having been married for 32 years and parented two beautiful daughters, this couple has ventured down the long road of life together and are still very much in love. Their about to see their second daughter, Kellie, get married, so I thought it would be fun to celebrate their marriage.
Jan & Don love to take long walks, as they talk about life, their kids and God.
I told them to whisper something to each other that they have never heard the other say. As you can see, the images are priceless!
I love how the warmth behind them matches the heat of their love. And I love that Jan is standing on her tip-toes. Adorable!
I love how perfect you guys look together!
When I saw the sun peeking thru the trees, I knew I would be able to get this awesome affect by simply adjusting my aperture. So rad!

These are beautiful Amber — what great light and a sweet sweet couple. I hope Nick and I can do this together when we’ve been married for 30 years 🙂
Beautiful work, as always, and the subjects are particularly sweet!
Such a wonderful session Amber! We will do one soon!
These are my sweet parents and I love that you were able to capture their love through a lens. So special 🙂
I love this. They are beautiful. I have no more words!
