I was SO excited to photograph Chad, an about to be graduate from Fullerton High School. If you have been following me for awhile you probably noticed that I traditionally don’t photograph guys. So when I booked this shoot, I was elated that I had the challenge of photographing a subject that I wasn’t used to working with. I have taught photography for 13 years and have taught how to pose guys that entire time, but even still, I was a little nervous. Oh my goodness, I nailed it! And I had SO MUCH FUN doing it!
Chad was like a breath of fresh air. Confident, easy going and a natural in front of the camera…he was the perfect model. After getting to know Chad a bit, I knew he didn’t want flowers and rolling green hills to be his location for his Senior Portraits. Also after hearing all about his outfit choices, I knew that urban backdrops would be the perfect place to do our shoot, so the back alleys in Fullerton were the perfect spot to start out shoot.
I drive past this wall of ivy all the time and never noticed how it would be an awesome backdrop for a handsome subject. With a camera in hand, I had new eyes and BOOM, it served as a great background for Chad to stand in front of.
This is my all time favorite shot from our big day. Oh hello red wall!We then headed to one of my favorite spots in Fullerton to take some nature shots with a softer edge. I have always dreamed of doing a James Dean sort of look and I was so excited when Chad busted out this leather jacket. Work it Chad!Chad, thank you so much for trusting me with taking your Senior Portraits. I am so excited for your future endeavors and I pray that you choose the right college for your future studies. You have so many great things before you, so really enjoy ALL of it and remember how blessed and loved you are by your awesome parents.
Great job Amber! I knew you’d be perfect for this shoot. Awesome pictures of such a handsome young man!
