Fullerton Seniors, you are beautiful.
Did you know that?
I’ve photographed hundreds of high school seniors since I started up this photograph gig in 2010, and the one thing I’m sure of is that every single one of you is beautiful.
Even those of you who don’t know it yet, who have been beaten down in the grind of high school — you are especially beautiful.
See, what I do as a high school senior photographer, is that I show you your own beauty. I point it out to you.
So after our shoot, when we sit down for “The Big Reveal” and I show you 50 images of you — of you in multiple outfits, in multiple locations, lounging across classic cars and horses and against trees — you’re going to gasp. Because even if you know you’re beautiful, you’re going to be taken aback by how stunning you look.
Want to know more about me?
- I majored in Art at UCLA (Go Bruins!), and have been photographing high school seniors and teaching photography since then.
- I’ve been living near downtown Fullerton since 2011, and I love the city.
- I’ve photographed hundreds of high school seniors since I started my business in 2010, and nothing makes me happier than seeing a senior’s eyes light up when they see themselves transformed by my camera.
But enough about me. Let’s talk about a photography session.
Here’s what a photography session looks like with me.
1. We have a discussion about your vision for the shoot.
Do you want it to look urban or natural? Classy or sassy? Do you want trees in the background or cool buildings? I am totally open to hearing about how you envision your shoot. And if you don’t have ideas, don’t worry! I have plenty and will lead you through the process so you end up with exactly what you want.
Because ultimately, this shoot is about you. So I want your pictures to truly capture the essence of your personality.
2. On the day of your shoot, you will get professional makeup and hair styling.
My hair stylists and makeup artists are the best. Seriously the best. All four of them work at Salon Lujon, which is the super fancy salon in downtown Fullerton, and they are magicians at making you look your best. It’s like they cast this spell and the camera will love you 10x as much.
3. We parade you through 3 – 5 locations.
You are the star of this show, and I am your paparazzi. We are going to move through several locations so we can get a wide variety of shots. All the while, I’m going to show you all my tips and secrets for posing, the same ones used by professional models, and you are going to look beautiful.
4. You change through a whole wardrobe full of outfits.
Oh, have I not mentioned clothing yet? Well, get ready. You better bring it, because I want to see a whole series of looks for you. It would be so boring to do a shoot in a single outfit, so I prefer to see you in a ton of different kinds of lovely outfits.
I’ve even partnered with some boutique clothing stores who dress my girls, such as LuLaRoe and Stitch & Feather. Their clothes are so gorgeous, and you get to feel like a princess as you switch from new outfit to new outfit.
5. You feel incredible.
There are not many times in your life when you get to be the main focus. Maybe at your birthday. Or a graduation. But during the shoot, you are going to feel wonderful. It’s a magical moment when you get to metaphorically wave goodbye to everything you’ve done in high school and look forward to the next journey of college.
6. A week later, I show you the pictures.
You gasp. Your mother cries. Your father melts.
You beg for all of them, and you show them to your friends so often they get sick of you. With these pictures, you look like a supermodel on social media.
If you’re from Fullerton, we don’t have to shoot in Fullerton. About half of my clients want to remember this town, and so we go to some of their favorite locations.
I’ve done photography shoots at:
- Fullerton Trail
Some very nice wooded spots along the trail. The pictures look like you’re in a pristine wilderness.
- Downtown Fullerton
If you like more of an urban look, this is the place to go.
- Secret Spots
You’d like to know, wouldn’t you. But I’m not posting these online. I have some spots up my sleeve nobody knows about, but I’ll take you there.
Of course, if you don’t want to shoot in Fullerton we don’t have to. I’ve done shoots at the beach, in Orange, in Santa Ana.
You don’t have to worry about the location. Just tell me what you want the shoot to feel like, or to look like, and I’ll take you to the right spot.
My clients mostly come from a number of schools across Fullerton. I don’t want to mention any favorites, so I’ll put all 3 of them here (in no particular order!)
- Troy
- Ah, Troy! It’s less than a mile from my house and the students are wicked smart. They know how to study hard and how to relax hard. I always have a ton of fun with Troy students talking about their college application process, and what kind of fun and crazy hobbies they have.
- Rosary
- I love all the girls at Rosary. They photograph well and are easy to get along with.
- Fullerton High School
- I’ve had more clients from Fullerton High School than any other high school in the area. Look closely at the pictures on here, and you’ll probably recognize someone (or they know somebody you know).
Want to see more examples of my photography?
The single pictures above are great, but you should look through a whole session to get a better idea of my style.
Let me link to a few of my favorite Fullerton photography sessions:
1. Darcy Sattler
Darcy is a such a sweetheart, and we had an amazing time on tractors and classic cars.
2. Alex Rubeshaw
I can’t even tell you how much fun we had on this shoot. These photos only contain 3% of the laughter that went on.
3. Pia
This shoot with Pia was posted on the prestigious Seniorologie blog, the premier blog for senior portraits!
And here’s a video that shows off a whole bunch of my senior pictures:
