Life. Work. And Balance.

My boys are 7 months and 5 days old today. I am a few miles into a very long race. The start of my journey has been marked with lots of laughter and many joyous occasions, but also with many  sleepless nights and exhaustion. I have learned to survive off of 5 hours of sleep…

Oh AMEN MAMA!!! I’m actually typing this as I pump 😉 I have loved sharing this new mom journey with you and am so thankful to have a friend to talk about all these things with like you. We are kindred souls in so many ways!

SO happy to hear you’re finding a balance again and so excited to see those DARLING BOYS! Seven months already…wow.

7 months already? It seems like yesterday that you brought those handsome little Foxes to me. I am proud of you for taking time for yourself and for your family to figure out how you can still do it all. Of course, we all long to have it all, but need to take one day at a time. I really need to come see you and the boys. Love you tons my friend! xoxo

Amber your so smart to have realized so young that you have to slow down and enjoy life now. It goes by so fast, and to put something you love off until tomorrow, well there might not be a tomorrow. Enjoy life its fleeting.

A Working Momma

People kept asking me, “Are you ready?” Ready for teaching full time again?  Ready to leave my boys home with my husband? Ready to jump back in at full speed? Ready to miss my boys so much it hurts? I seriously cried every day for an entire two weeks leading up to the day I had…

Double the Blessing: Our Birth Story

They’re here!!! I am almost one month into being a mom. The past 3 1/2 weeks have been the best and hardest days of my life. John and I prayed for these little ones for years, and I am so thankful they are here. But having twins is hard work. Let me tell you our…

Oh Amber, those B&W shots of you and John with your precious babes just take my breath away! I’m SO proud of you and how far you’ve come on this journey. I feel like it wasn’t that long ago that it was Christmas and you were calling me to tell me that there were two tiny little guys starting to grow in your belly! I know I’m going to be in the throes of that newborn sleep-deprived state too, so like you, I’ll come back to God to get me through it and to thank him daily (hourly) for the blessing of motherhood that, thanks to you and so many other women I know, I never want to take for granted. LOVE YOU!!!

Oh friend, what a beautiful story of your two precious babes. I feel honored to have been on this journey with you from beginning to end, and now a new chapter begins and that is to watch these little guys grow up into handsome young men. I have learned so much from you! Praying for both you and John as your family grows. xoxo

I have to admit, I teared up a little when I was reading this! I’m so happy for you and your husband; the boys are absolute perfection and I wish you the best and hope you get as much sleep as possible!

Personal Project: Old Barns of Illinois, Part 3

I am so happy to show off the third and last installment from my old barn series from our trip to Illinois back in late April. Now if we were to go to Illinois now, our days would be filled with shucking fresh corn and battling 100 degree plus heat. The fields would be green…
