Love that picture Amber! What a great idea, so cool that you truly get to do your dream job everyday and have the freedom to express your passion.

  • TracyApril 18, 2010 - 11:04 am

What a great project! I can only imagine how much fun your students have working with you. You’re a person who follows your passion, and it shows! 🙂

I heard once that if you are passionate about how you make a living, it will never be “work”. When you are passionate about what you teach, you INSPIRE students to follow their dreams. I am glad you told that counselor off! Boo on him!

Becker Goes Back to School

I was so excited when Becker agreed to come and speak to my students that I couldn’t fall asleep last night. At this point in the year, my seniors are totally suffering from Senioritis, and I knew they needed the shot in the arm of my biggest photo inspiration, Chris Becker.  So today he swung…

So awesome!!! I can imagine how great it was and how inspiring he was to those kids. I wish someone like Becker spoke in my high school class. Great job as always, Amber!!!

I wish I could have been there… the funny thing is I just spent today watching him on a video blog/ chat with photographer Gabriel Ryan for the [b] school, didn’t click until now that it was the same guy… lol thats kind of funny!

  • Thomas FrankMarch 27, 2010 - 11:00 am

Becker Rocks! Wait, you Rock! How fun!

  • Shane ThompsonMarch 27, 2010 - 11:46 am

What a great opportunity for your students to have someone like [b]ecker come speak to him. I hope they learned something from him, and appreciated how neat that is that he would come and spend the day with them.

  • KeatsMarch 27, 2010 - 4:54 pm

I can’t believe he wore his “I facebooked your mom” t-shirt to school! I’m so glad you guys had a great day with Becker — he said if his high school photography teacher had been half as cute and sweet as you Amber, the whole school would have grown up to be photographers 🙂 You are an amazing new friend!

SOO great Amber! Never met Becker, but you can’t argue with what he’s done for the industry. Love that you had this connection with him to bring in him for your students!

PS – I owe you an email 🙂

That is so awesome, Amber. You are so lucky to teach what you love. So fantastic that Becker took time to share his love too with your kids. Congrats!

Hey Amber! Your blog design is stellar! I just found your work through the [b] school. I, too, have shot with Becker and he’s been such an inspiration/mentor to me over the last 2 years. That’s so awesome that he came out and did this. Keep up the great work! Cheers!

SO AWESOME!!!! I actually DO believe that he wore that shirt! What a crazy and talented dude!!! And, just like Gail mentioned, I owe you an email too, but I am afraid to say that the one I found is a few months old!!! Have fun at Joshua Tree today! Hope to see you soon.

What a Fox Eats

Shortly before I left for WPPI, I was chit chatting with some students and one of my girls asked me, with all seriousness, where raisins were from. Laughing off my disbelief that she didn’t know that these yummy little wrinkled balls of sugar come from grapes, I thought to myself, I need to do something…

ah – YUM~!!! you seriously have some good looking gourmet foods to eat – I’ll give up junk for that!! Nice shots too, love the pot on the stove, great depth, color and love the worn, slightly discolored knobs, your stove is cool!

If you have a way to do it, you should DVR Friday’s premiere of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution program coming up on ABC. He goes into schools in West Virginia to overhaul their food choices. You’d think this was the premiere of Eclipse or something for how excited I am over this show, but I’m a foodie at heart, so I LOVE what you’re doing here Amber! And as someone who almost became a teacher (9 credits shy of my master’s..yeesh), I wish I could sub for your class!!!

  • Thomas FrankMarch 22, 2010 - 4:19 pm
